Who we are and what we stand for

ÖkoWiederverw – Together for a sustainable future

We are a local initiative that anchors reuse and environmental protection in everyday life. Our focus is on practical solutions for private households and small communities in Austria.
Our drive

Reuse instead of throwing away

Every year, tons of usable items end up in the trash. We show how to give furniture, clothing, and everyday objects a second life with simple means – and save money in the process.

„An old table becomes a new desk – with some sandpaper and paint.“
Our community

Who we work for

Our offer is aimed at environmentally conscious people in urban and rural areas who are looking for sustainable alternatives. From families to students to clubs – everyone can join in.

„We connect neighbors, swap meets, and repair cafés in your region.“
Our tone

Honest, practical, direct

No empty promises, but concrete tips and real examples. We communicate on an equal footing and avoid exaggerated advertising language.

„Sustainability begins small – with one conscious decision per day.“

What Our Community Says

Honest voices from people who participate and make a difference.

Thanks to the exchange platform, I got rid of my old office chair and got an almost new children's bike in return. Uncomplicated and meaningful.

Sabrina Grünwald Participant since 2023

The upcycling workshops showed me how much potential there is in supposedly bulky waste. I built a raised bed from old pallets – it's been holding up for three years now.

Prof. Wolfgang Schulz MBA. Workshop Leader

At first I was skeptical whether second-hand clothing really looks good. By now I almost only buy used – the quality is often better than new items.

Josef List Regular Visitor

The monthly collection campaign for small electrical appliances is perfect. No more long searches for the nearest recycling center – just put them out front and have them picked up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most important topics around reuse and sustainable everyday life.

Which items can I donate?

We accept well-preserved furniture, electrical appliances, clothing, books, and household items. Please only bring things you would still use yourself – we cannot accept broken or heavily soiled items. If you are unsure, our on-site team will be happy to help you.

Do I need to make an appointment in advance?

No, registration is not necessary. You can simply come by during regular opening hours. If there is ever a large crowd, we ask for your patience – we do our best to serve everyone quickly and friendly.

Can I also donate larger quantities at once?

Yes, that is possible. For larger quantities, we recommend informing us briefly by email so we can plan enough space and staff. This way you avoid waiting times and we can record your donations optimally.

What happens to the donated items?

Everything is inspected, cleaned, and sorted by condition. Well-preserved pieces go directly to our store or are passed on to social institutions. Defective electrical appliances are properly recycled. This way, no item ends up senselessly in the trash.

Can I also take something without donating anything?

Of course. Our store is open to everyone – you don't have to donate anything to take something. Just browse the shelves and find used treasures at small prices. Every purchase supports our charitable work.
